《圣母颂》最流行的有两个曲调，一个是舒伯特（Schubert）谱写的，另一个是古诺谱写的，但歌词都一样，就是天主教会的圣母经，歌词是用拉丁文写的：

拉丁文：

Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum, benedicta tu in mulieribus, et beneditus fructus ventris tui, Jesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc et in hora mortis nostrae, Amen.

英译文：

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thy, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

圣母经：

万福玛利亚，你充满圣宠，主与你同在；你在妇女中受赞颂，你的亲子耶稣同受赞颂。天主圣母玛利亚，求你现在和我们临终时为我们罪人祈求天主，阿门。
